Quantity Surveyor (Dispute Resolution)

Leeds, UK (Flexibility with home working)

£45,000 to £65,000 Basic Salary, Bonus scheme, Pension

North Gate are partnering with an exceptional privately owned dispute resolution consultancy within Construction and Engineering. This business focuses on providing a range of high-level dispute resolution, claims and expert witness services to owners, contractors and law firms. They are currently looking to recruit an additional Quantity Surveyor to its team in Leeds and are keen to meet with those individuals that feel a career path in this specialist area is of interest.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting experienced consultants in analysing and defending complex claims on major construction and engineering projects across a wide variety of sectors and jurisdictions.
  • Managing, submitting and defending claims and assessing, analysing and advising on contracts, claims and related costs and damages.
  • Supporting Expert Witnesses in Arbitration / Litigation in order to produce high level reports
  • Developing your QS and quantum abilities, legal and contractual knowledge in order to equip yourself with higher level capabilities within the practice.

Requirements

  • Ideally you will be a Quantity Surveyor working for a contractor/consultant in the building, civils or power sector and have an interest in construction law and dispute resolution.
  • Ideally you should have at least 3 years’ experience based on site delivering projects.
  • You should be qualified in quantity surveying and/or chartered and interesting in working towards gaining additional legal qualifications.
  • Ideally someone with a forensic or enquiring mind, who displays good attention to detail with a career demonstrating a strong technical aptitude.
  • Excellent written and verbal English language skills.
