Contract Administrator

£80,000 to £100,000

We are currently working with a large international main contractor in Europe, a business with a significant track record in the Energy from Waste and Renewable Gas markets in the UK. The business acts as a multi-disciplinary engineering and construction contractor as well as project developer, delivering wholly turnkey plants and facilities. Due to a large portfolio of work in the UK and a growing pipeline of future projects they are currently investing in their contract management team which helps to develop, deliver and hand over major projects for the organisation. As part of this investment they currently require an additional Contract Administrator to embellish the teams strength and capability.

Responsibilities

​​​​​​Supporting project procurement and developing procurement strategies Establishing contract summaries and briefings for the business Developing a collaborative relationship with JV partners and investors Supporting the Project Director to review budgets and with commercial and contractual aspects of projects with clients, suppliers and partners Proactively pursuing resolution of internal and external commercial disputes Taking the lead regarding formal project disputes with the assistance of legal department Preparing and maintaining contractual correspondence Working with external experts and specialists on major projects Advising on payment procedures, project bonds, guarantees and insurance. Contractual administration and change management Managing and advising on different types of claims Risk management

Requirements

Ideally you with be dual qualified in a construction or engineering discipline with further Legal or Contract management training At least 10 years of experience in construction project delivery, ideally at least some within renewables, energy or industrial plants. Proficient with standard form and bespoke contracts including ideally NEC and FIDIC

  • Exposure to dispute resolution/avoidance, claims management, arbitration desirable
  • A people person, a team player and someone enthusiastic with the drive and motivation to want to develop and progress their career
