 Associate Director (Quantum)

London

C £120,000 to £140,000 plus bonus, pension and benefits.

 

North Gate are working closely with a respected construction and engineering Expert Witness and Dispute Resolution consultancy, with a strong London presence. They are currently engaged by a range of law firms and blue-chip clients on high value and complex disputes. The team provides quantum, delay and engineering expert witness and related advisory services and is looking to strengthen its quantum team further with an experienced Associate Director.  This role will be a client facing role and provides a development path and platform to push on as both an expert witness and leader in the business.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Undertaking expert witness work either as the named expert or supporting other named experts in international and domestic arbitration
  • Forensic quantum analysis of claims and contentious issues arising on major projects
  • Working in teams to advise high profile clients on major projects often handling high value and complex disputes
  • Contributing to business development and promoting the company
  • Helping to mentor, guide and develop team members to reach their potential.
  • Helping to contribute to a dynamic and loyal team environment

 

Requirements:

 

  • Degree qualified ideally with additional qualifications / affiliations in construction law
  • Ideally MRICS or MCIArb qualified
  • Experience of supporting / being the named expert witness or with aspirations to be an expert
  • 2 years + experience of working as a quantum dispute consultant
  • Ideally 5 plus years of construction related industry / site experience
  • Strong knowledge of quantity surveying and construction cost management
  • Broad experience across a range of construction/engineering projects
  • Critical thinker with excellent attention to detail and good problem solving skills
  • Good written communication and presentation skills
  • Comfortable working both independently and in a multidisciplinary team
  • Positive minded aspires to work to their best standard and encourages others to do the same
