North Gate are working closely with a highly respected construction and engineering Expert Witness and Dispute Resolution consultancy with an established team in Scotland. They are currently engaged by a range of domestic and international law firms and clients on high value and complex disputes many in arbitration internationally.
This privately owned business currently boasts one of the strongest, most dynamic teams in the global dispute and expert witness market. Due to strong pipeline of work it is seeking to strengthen it’s team in Scotland with an experienced hire in its quantum expert team. This role will be a client facing role reporting to one of the Directors but also engages the individual within the management structure and provides a development path and platform to push on as both an expert witness and future leader in the business.
Responsibilities:
- Undertaking expert witness work either as the named expert or supporting other named experts in international and domestic arbitration
- Forensic quantum analysis of claims and contentious issues arising on major projects
- Working in teams to advise high profile clients on major projects, some £1BN + in size, often handling disputes valued over £50M.
- Contributing to business development and promoting the company
- Helping to mentor, guide and develop team members to reach their potential.

Requirements:
- Degree qualified ideally with additional qualifications / affiliations in construction law
- Experience of supporting / being the named expert witness or with aspirations to be an expert
- Ideally experience across the lifecycle of an arbitration
- 5 years + experience of working as a quantum consultant within a respected construction / engineering practice, dispute resolution or management consultancy
- Ideally at least part of your experience will have been spent on site for a main contractor
- Someone positive minded and hard working who aspires to work with the best and be the best and wants to encourage others to do the same
