Our client is a respected growing forensic services consultancy in the property, construction, and engineering sectors. They provide a range of quantum and planning related dispute advisory services, supporting solicitors and clients in arbitration and rescuing delayed and troubled projects internationally.
An established British Expert Witness practice, it currently requires a new Director to lead it’s Delay team in Sydney. Currently the business employs a number of Expert Witnesses and specialist consultants who are experienced in resolving complex high value disputes, however they have a need for someone to lead and develop Delay and Planning regionally. In particular, there is a need for someone who is already established or proven to be able to act as a lead expert on complex or sensitive cases.
Responsibilities
•Develop, lead, motivate and empower an existing team of planners / delay analysts providing Expert Witness and high-level time-related claims advice to clients.
•Working on behalf of main contractors, law firms and employers on high value disputes globally
•Becoming part of the management team in Australia working with the Directors to develop the business
•Representation or support in litigation / adjudication and/or acting as expert witness in relation to delay and planning
•Providing contract advice, particularly in relation to time / programme and due diligence of contractor’s programmes, and/or presenting on delay issues.
•Business development and marketing, client relationship management.
Requirements
•An experienced Planner, Engineer or Project Manager, with substantial dispute resolution / contentious experience and who who has acted as an Expert Witness on delay related matters
•Degree qualified ideally with additional legal qualifications and charterships
•Demonstrable track record of working as Expert Witness and lead Delay consultant on high value and / or complex planning related disputes.
•Ideally a career demonstrating progression and a high level of technical aptitude and sound business acumen.
•Someone ambitious who wants to build their name as a leading name in this sector with a respected company
•A team player who can work with the other leaders of the business to help develop the company’s reputation and service level
•Knowledge of relevant programming software, ideally Asta, Primavera and/or MS Project.
•Knowledge of contracts, construction processes and construction law
