One of North Gate’s core clients are looking to strengthen their planning and delay analysis team in London with an additional experienced professional.

 

The business, an international advisory firm, ideally require someone experienced as a consultant advising on retrospective planning issues, EOT related claims and claims / arbitrations involving time / program / scheduling issues, more than likely this individual will already be established as an externally facing advisor or expert or used to supporting expert witnesses in arbitration or other on high level issues of this type.

 

This is a market leading firm both in terms of its service offering and track record but also, the staff it attracts and retains and the reputation it has established over the past 20 years.

 

Responsibilities

 

•Working as part of the overall London team to provide advice and analysis on claims / disputes in respect to planning/ time issues on major building, infrastructure and energy projects.
•Aiding in the development and leadership of an excellent team of Delay Analysts and Experts
•Working on behalf of main contractors, law firms and employers on high value £multi-million disputes
•Providing contract advice, particularly in relation to planning/ time, and due diligence of contractor’s programmes, and/or presenting on delay issues.
•Working with legal counsel in arbitration
•Supporting expert witnesses and / or working as a named expert / developing into one.
•Assisting with business development and marketing

 

Requirements

 

•Degree qualified, preferably chartered with additional Legal qualifications (construction management, engineering, project management, building, MCIOB or similar).
•A career demonstrating progression and a high level of technical aptitude.
•Demonstrable track record of working as a Delay Analyst and / or expert witness on time related disputes.
•Someone with experience of contentious issues, claims, litigation, the legal process.
•Someone at ease working closely with high profile construction lawyers, contractors or clients.
•Knowledge of relevant programming software, ideally Asta Powerproject or Primavera P6.
•Knowledge of contracts, construction processes and construction law
•Background likely to have been at a senior or management level within a dispute resolution consultancy in the building, infrastructure, oil & gas or power sector.

•Becoming part of the management team in Scotland / UK working with the Directors to develop the business in the UK
•Giving expert testimony in litigation, international arbitration and ADR forums.

•Representation or support in adjudication and/or expert witness in relation to delay and planning

•An experienced Planner, with substantial dispute / contentious experience who has acted as an Expert Witness
•Degree qualified ideally with additional legal qualifications
•Demonstrable track record of working as a Delay Analyst on high value and / or complex planning related disputes, inc lost productivity and disruption, delay and disruption damages etc
•A career demonstrating progression, loyalty, technical aptitude and business acumen.
•Knowledge of relevant programming software, ie Asta Powerproject, Primavera or MS Project.
•Confident interacting with high level clients on complex disputed matters. Able to present, argue and pitch ideas to small and large audiences
•At least part of your experience should stem from leading major projects for a contractor
•Ideally experience of mentoring and developing emerging talent
•Excellent oral and verbal communications skills, relationship building and interpersonal skills
